Pilgrims and Indians

Happy Thanksgiving! It's always been my favorite holiday. All you have to do is cook and eat. Nothing more is expected. Maybe watch some football. Here's a cartoon from a few years ago. I stumbled upon an old sketchbook with the initial doodles for this cartoon. Also, a strange drawing of old boats on the horizon in pen, ink and crayon. I always seemed to gravitate toward Pilgrims and Indians. It was never sharing a meal in harmony as you might expect. The focus was their first encounter seeing one another on the beach. Somehow this seemed like a nice opportunity to comment on immigration.

Do you really think the two scenarios are comprable? Do you imagine anyone, from any nation, ought to be able to show up in any nation and live there, "legally"? If not, why?
Why do all of these ultra lefty European Nations enforce immigration laws that are much more strict than ours?
